Alaska Islands & Ocean Visitor Center

Few tourists can visit the remote and wild Alaska Maritime National Wildlife Refuge, so the visitor center brings it to them.

This visitor center in Homer, Alaska includes a multi-sensory theater experience which evokes the feeling of being on distant Aleutian islands populated by millions of seabirds. A recreated field camp communicates the joys and hardships endured by US Fish and Wildlife Service field workers as they carry out important conservation work far from home. Indoor and trail exhibits encourage visitors to witness wildlife similar to that of the Refuge while exploring the Homer area.
