Lacerte Family Children's Zoo

Created within the existing Dallas Zoo, the Children's Zoo features a wealth of touch encounters with live creatures. We designed a safe and familiar space for urban children who likely have little direct experience with the natural world.

Interactive exhibits appeal to kids of various ages, such as a crawl-through mongoose burrow and other full-body experiences. Children can also play with puzzles in the Discovery House and learn more about the in-house specimen collection by trading natural artifacts at the popular Nature Exchange. The Nature Exchange is a central feature and a big success in building repeat visits and Zoo memberships.
