Al Ain Zoo: Sheikh Zayed Desert Learning Center

To support Abu Dhabi's environmental education and tourism development strategies, an overall concept for the redevelopment of the 450-acre Al Ain Zoo was created. An important component of this expansion is the Sheikh Zayed Desert Learning Centre.

The learning centre will enhance the current Zoo exhibits, providing new and different types of experiences and opportunities to discover more about the desert. Visitors can "fly" over the Arabian desert in a multi-screen theatre production, experience Bedu life in a re-created encampment, appreciate Sheikh Zayed's conservation efforts in a memorial hall, dig for fossilized elephant bones, radio-track live oryx, model a sand dune, and measure their ecological footprint.
